Al Lusail Successfully Completed Her Sea Trials

The 123 meter Project Jupiter of Lürssen superyacht has been spotted on sea trials, holding her official name “Al Lusail”. The delivery of the yacht is expected to take place soon by the end of this year.


This was the highly secretive project of Lürssen superyacht and it features architecture of in-house naval. The exterior work of the yacht has been done by the British studio H2 Yacht Design. The flowing lines present at the yacht blur the boundaries, which is present between the yacht’s upper four decks to create a dynamic look

Although, very few information is present about March & White interiors of Al Lusail or the engine set-up, however, so far it is understood that the Jupiter project was created according to the standards of Lloyd’s Register.

The full-displacement steel hull present on the yacht supports the aluminum superstructure of the yacht and the teak decks. When the yacht will be delivered to her owner this year, it will be officially ranked as one among the largest superyachts in the world.

Lürssen is not new to superyacht construction. It has eight of the largest superyacht projects in the world presently under construction at the German yard. These yachts include an unnamed 146 meter superyacht and Project Redwood the 139 meters, which is expected to launch in 2019.

This is the first design of H2 for Lürssen and the third superyacht design of studio more than 100 meters in the past three years. Last H2 projects of Lurssen on this scale include Ulysses, Kleven explorer yacht and the Maryah of 125 meters. The creative director of studio Jonny Horsfield revealed his 5 thumb rules for designing of a superyacht.

He informed how fundamental of Yacht designing can be changed with the innovating thinking and doing experiments.
