After 7 weeks, Long Beach Island Yacht Racing Associations season ended at the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club under perfect conditions on 13th August. Terence Burke told that it was one of the better inter clubs of the year. The wind was perfect, they got a lot of races in and they came in early.
This regatta happened following an intense storm which triggered gusty winds and flooding on the Island. Burke stated that he believes that they might not make it today; he believed that it would be called off. The weather forecast appeared as if it was going to rain all day.
Becca Hofing of Brant Beach Yacht Club, was actually concerned about the fact that weather conditions would not be too good it would be windy. And more than that, there would be a tippin party in the water.
Hofing added that she believes that she did quite great. She did better in the very first race compared to the other races in the past. She came in 3rd for the 1st race, and after that she came in like 5th and 6th for the rest.
Will Vaughn of Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club told that the conditions were great. They could not have been better, to be very frank. It was a great amount of wind, he would not have changed it. Will and Terence both were performing at their home water. But Will told that being at home did not offer him much advantage.
